Hirata Farm
Located in the countryside of Miyoshi, Hirata Farm is a long-established fruit farm known for its wide range of seasonal fruit-picking experiences and its focus on the connection between agriculture and community.
The main attraction at Hirata Farm is the chance to pick and eat pesticide-free fruit directly from the trees and vines. Different fruits are in season at different times, ensuring something to harvest year-round. Strawberries grown in greenhouses are available in winter and early spring, followed by cherries, blueberries, peaches, figs, and plums in the warmer months. Late summer and early autumn bring grapes, apples, and pears. You can explore the orchards, vineyards, and greenhouses, picking and eating fruit as you go.
The farm also offers a variety of hands-on activities using freshly picked fruit. There are workshops and short cooking classes for making fruit-filled mochi, dessert pizzas, or preserved goods like jams and syrups.
Dining options at Hirata Farm include both casual and more substantial meals. You can rent barbecue facilities, or visit the on-site café, Noqoo in a renovated farmhouse. The café serves dishes using the farm’s fresh fruit as well as savoury options such as spicy curry and wild game sausages. The farm is famous for its fruit parfaits.
Hirata Farm is also home to several animals, including goats, sheep, ponies, and large brown Swiss cattle that graze in pastures near the vineyard.
