Garyu-Sanso-3

Garyū Sansō

Garyū Sansō is a ‘mountain hermitage’ created by a wealthy trader in the Meiji Period when Ōzu was a thriving centre for paper and candles. It’s a beautiful architectural folly gracing a curve in the Hijikawa River. Its several buildings stand in a mossy, leafy garden, and its exquisite craftsmanship can still be enjoyed today.
