Ekin Museum
Hirose Kinzō (1812–1876), also known as Ekin, was a Japanese painter of the late Edo and early Meiji period. Born in Kōchi he studied locally, then in Edo. He returned to Kōchi to serve the chief retainers of the Tosa Domain.
The Ekin Museum in Kōnan displays his dynamic and colourful works in a variety of dramatic settings. Other exhibits document his eventful life and the town of Akaoka as it used to be.
