Art Labo KASURI
Art Labo Kasuri is a shop selling products made of Matsuyama’s traditional textile, Iyo Kasuri, a kind of ikat. Production of Iyo Kasuri began about 200 years ago, when a local woman, Kagitani Kana, devised a method of reproducing a simple woven pattern. This became a hit nationwide so that Iyo kasuri accounted for 26% of all ikat produced in 1904. It was widely used for kimono and other garments.
At the shop, you can purchase a range of clothing and interior décor. You can also try indigo dyeing and making a hime daruma doll.
