Mt. Kirō Observation Platform

Mt. Kirō is located in the southern part of Ōshima Island. At the summit is an architecturally interesting observation deck. It was designed not to be visible from below so as to preserve the original profile of the mountain. At 301 m, it affords stunning views of the Seto Inland Sea. The view to the south over the Kurushima Strait Bridge is spectacular.

Sundown is a popular time to visit. At this time the roiled surface of the Inland Sea is particularly striking.
