Overview

On this valuable program you learn about the spirit of Bushido and gain insights into the way of life of the samurai, exploring the meaning and signficance of the Seven Virtues of Bushido. Through the example of local lord Kikkawa Motoharu, you reflect on what it truly means to be a samurai. You’ll lessons discover and values from history that are still relevant today. Through swordsmanship practice in full armor, you learn the importance of mental focus and discipline. Then you enjoy a samurai meal at a nearby traditional Japanese restaurant.

Itinerary

  • Meet your guide at Roadside station Mai-road IC Chiyoda. Board a private car to the Sengoku-no-Niwa Historical Museum.

  • Arrive at the Sengoku-no-Niwa Historical Museum.

  • Samurai experience begins (armor dressing, katana training, and Tameshigiri test cutting). Train at the Historic Site Kikkawa Motoharukan Ruins.

  • Board a private car to Shikinoie Ayakura.

  • Kaiseki cuisine lunch using local ingredients.

  • Return to Roadside station Mai-road IC Chiyoda by a private car. End of the tour.
