Overview

The historic town of Onomichi sits astride a narrow sea channel between the mainland of Hiroshima and Mukaishima Island. From the Onomichi dock, you can take a dynamic ride on a Rigid Inflatable Boat, or RIB. These vessels combine a solid, V-shaped hull with inflatable tubes around the gunwale, allowing for high speeds and stability in the racing currents of the Seto Inland Sea. These tours are named after the Suigun, a sophisticated naval organisation that protected and taxed ships on the Seto Inland Sea during the Warring States Period. Tours of various lengths are available. You can cruise around the island of Mukaishima, cruise to Ōkunoshima Island known for its rabbits, or take a sunset cruise.
